Cancellation Policy
Full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking, if the check-in date is at least 14 days away. 50% refund for cancellations made at least 7 days before check-in. No refunds for cancellations made within 7 days of check-in.
Items We Provide for Each Property
At each of our properties you will find that all necessary lines are in place upon your arrival for your convenience. Because we purchase upscale linens for you comfort we ask that you treat them gently.
Utila Vacation Rentals provides quality paper products in all of our rental properties. We don't use inferior paper products and wouldn't expect you to, either.
In each of our properties you will find a full compliment of hand soap, body wash, shampoo, and creme rinse.
Power usage: On short term rentals of a property, we provide a power allowance on a daily basis. That amount will vary between each property, because they have different needs or present different options. All monthly rentals are responsible for their own power usage. (As a note to file, at The Gardens each unit is wired independently and has it's own power meter.)
As a number of our properties have private swimming pools for your convenience we have included a selection of pool towels for you use on the property. These are specific to each home, so please do not take them to the beach as they are easily lost requiring replacement.
For those of you traveling with Little Ones, please let us know if you would like to use one of the Baby Jails that we keep on hand for just such an occurrence. There is no additional charge for using this, we just want to make your visit with us as easy as possible, and leaving a bulky item like this at home leaves extra room for other essentials that Little One's require.
Every property that we represent has a minimum of 1 air conditioner. At the very least you will find one in the bedroom, or on the other end of the scale, one in each bedroom with multiple additional units in great rooms, living areas, kitchens, etc. They are for your comfort, but please be aware that excessive use of multiple units can easily affect your power allowance, hence costing you a bit more money.
Each of our properties comes complete with a full kitchen. Accoutrements may vary per property, but the essentials are present in each kitchen. Generally you'll find basic cookware, serving ware, flatware, coffee pot, blender and clean up supplies so that you can enjoy a meal you've prepared yourself instead of having to eat out for every meal. In some of our more upscale rentals you'll find complete sets of bake-ware, KitchenAid mixers and everything you need to go from a snack to a gourmet meal.
Commonly Found Grocery Items
Utila is fortunate to have a number of shops where you can find many of the grocery items that you may be used to where you are from.
Utila is fortunate to have a nice selection of products available in our local markets. From small "corner stores", called bodegas, to larger venues like Bush's Supermarket and Ethne's Caribbean Market, you can find a variety of offerings. We do have a lot of "imported" product that you are likely to have in the stores where you come from, along with localized products that are often priced as a better value. Wonderfully, here on island you can buy one single egg, or an entire flat of them.
There are canned goods, boxed or bagged goods, fresh produce, frozen goods,commonly found soft drinks, and both Top Shelf and "well" alcoholic beverages. Utila has a relatively extensive wine selection for an island of this size. The majority of our wines are Chilean, Argentinian and a smattering of US selections. Our Top Shelf are mostly things you'd find at home in any shop. The "local" rum Flor de Cana is a Central American product that a must try if you're feeling the pirate in you!
Our personal preference on meats are anything that is under the Del Coral label. From Rib eyes to pork loin these are the ones that we purchase. Frozen chicken is available, as is pork. (The pork here is reputed to be some of the best our guests say they have found anywhere).
Paper products, health and hygiene items and various sundries are available everywhere at both larger and smaller venues.
